It was a genuine pleasure to speak to ex-Munster academy player Steven McMahon, who is now doing rather well at Carcassonne in French rugby’s ProD2. And, I allowed myself a moment or two of vain pride when the resulting interview was published in the Irish Examiner, a paper I have long admired and respected.
As he left Munster Academy in the summer of 2017, Steven McMahon set himself a clear rugby goal — to return to the club that deemed him surplus to requirements.
