I’d been posting weekly Top 14 round-ups on this blog for the 2021/22 season as a piece of self-promotion – the idea to tempt editors to think my way if they need one-off commissions on the French rugby scene.

Anyway, it has been picked up by the Irish Examiner – so that’s where it’ll be from now on. I just need to think of something else to blog on, so that I can continue the self-promotion work… Previews are still on here.

Ryno Pieterse’s ‘tackle’ was the major talking point of the Top 14 weekend, after the Castres’ lock’s out-of-control cannonball hit on Bordeaux scrum-half Maxime Lucu went viral.
